Not likely but your Anti Virus scanner might complain. If this (a false positive) happens THEN: Contact us, report a false positive if your anti-virus scanner complains!
The difference between the Windows installer and the Windows zip file is:
· The Windows installer will write to the registry and this might be blocked by your IT department
· The Windows installer will automatically associate docFreak files with docFreak
· The Windows installer has a try license that is fixed at a certain start date and makes its lifetime shorter then the zip packages
· The Windows zip file does not write to your registry
· The Windows zip file is a portable app and can be placed where you want but only in folders where you have sufficient rights
· The Windows zip file does not associate docFreak files with docFreak (needs to be done manually, one time only)· The try license inside the .zip package is valid for 32 days (from the day you download)
NOTE: the zip package: is a portable app (meaning there is no installer needed).
Download, extract and start docFreak.
The preferred folder to extract to is
C:\Users\YourUserName\docfreak
For example:
C:\Users\JohnDoe\docfreak
ABOUT YOUR ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE
The Windows zip file download contains the portable version of docFreak and that one MIGHT trigger Anti-Virus software to alarm (a False-Positive).
There is not much I can do about this, it is a constant battle to white-list the new portable releases of docFreak.
The stupid thing is, that the Windows Installer download does NOT trigger Anti-Virus software at all while it contains exactly the same program files.
Please trust docFreak and white-list docFreak inside your Anti-Virus software to allow it to run on your Windows.
AGAIN: docFreak does NOT contain:
Malware, advertisements, trojans or other hidden functions that can track/harm: you, your privacy, your computer and/or the reputation of daxLAB Limited and docFreak.com.
- docFreak app must be placed inside your Home directory (see the readme that comes with the download).
- runs on Monterey, Ventura and Sonoma (not tested at older versions.... but might work)
- this version runs on Intel chips
- this version runs also on M1/M2/M3 chips when Rosetta 2 is installed
- IMPORTANT: you must allow docFreak to run as an app from an unknown developer
(FIRST start docFreak and AFTER THAT: allow docFreak via System preferences -> Security & Privacy).
